So jaw plates should be durable and firm. Generally, jaw plates is made by tooth-board and the angle of jaw plates’ cuspis dentis is about 90°～120°, which can be changed while manufacturing according to the properties of raw materials. While working, the wear speeds of upper part and lower part are different. The wear of lower part is faster, because it directly contact with raw materials. The service life of jaw plates directly affects the crushing efficiency and production cost of jaw crusher. So extending the service life of jaw plates is particularly important.

Ways To Extend Jaw Plates Service Life

To extend the service life jaw plates, we can consider from several aspects, such as material selection, design, installation and operation process etc.

While designing jaw plates, the cuspis dentis should against the tooth ravine. In this case, there is not only squeezing force in the crushing process, but also bending force, making raw materials easier to crush. In order to extend the service life of jaw plates, we can design symmetrical upper and lower part of jaw plates in medium or small sized jaw crusher. While the lower part wears, we can change their side and continue to use. In large scaled jaw crusher, jaw plates can be designed several pieces that are symmetrical to each other. Once found one piece damages, we can exchange it with other pieces.

While installation, jaw plates should be tightly fixed. In the working process of jaw crusher, customer should avoid loosening of jaw plates, or the jaw plates will easily to damage or part, which will reduce their service life. So in the installation of jaw plates, we should make sure they are accurately installed to extend the service life.

In the operation process, raw materials directly contact jaw plates, producing great crushing force, especially when crushing hard materials. In this case, the screw bolts vibrates and nuts may loosen, leading to the acceleration of jaw plates damage and produce much noise. So in the operation process of jaw crusher, customers should finger out measures to avoid acceleration of damage, loosen or part, in order to extend the service life of jaw plates, reduce the production cost and improve crushing efficiency.
